Setting up my dual tuner and my tv to watch and record.
Ok here is what I want to do I have an indoor powered antenna with video in and output to tv, it has a switch on it that says ant and video, I have a Samsung 500 series 1080P lcd tv, I have a computer that I bought an ATI TV Wonder 650 combo tuner high speed usb box, it has two ports on it one that is labled DTV one lables CATV. So this is what I want to do... I want to be able to record two shows at once on my computer, also receive the highest quality in to at least one of the tuners it said it was HD. Then I also want to be able to watch hd and over the air and cable from my tv while my compter is recording two shows at once. Short record 2 shows and still watch tv on the tv itself. Is this possible do I need anything else other than what I have.

Hi Cinimod,
The tuner has to support dual tuner mode. From your description I don't think it does. It sounds like you either choose DTV signal or a Cable signal for the tuner. You need to buy another tuner to have dual recording. Also the software has to support dual recording also.
I've always used Microsoft Media Center for my digital video recorder (DVR). IT has great menu's and its easy on the end user. I do not believe that it supports dual over the air recording. It is possible but requires hacking it a bit.
The norm is that a dual DVR can record two shows while watching one that has already been recorded. To record two shows while watching a live feed you need to split the signal from the antenna use a three way splitter. Two will go to your cards and one to your digital antenna in on the LCD. Then while you are recording 2 shows you will change the input on the LCD to the antenna signal.
Hope that helps.
