If the rest of your computer is compatible with 800mhz ram and the 800mhz RAM is the same kind of RAM that you already have (DDR or DDR2), then you probably will see somewhat of a performance benefit.
However, my understanding is you are replacing two 1GB sticks with one 2GB stick. Your best option, if your motherboard suppoorts dual channel memory, is to buy two faster 1GB sticks (or two 2GB sticks if you can afford it) and run them in dual channel mode. This will double the bandwidth between your RAM and your processor, and you will definitely notice that.

How does the bus speed affects RAM / System Memory ?
I have 2GB of RAM (1GB*2) with a bus speed of 333Mhz. Still I am playing all the latest games and my system is running very fast. I want to buy a 2GB RAM with 800Mhz. What do you suggest ? Will I get a performance increase ?

Increasing the memory in a computer is a very important step in speeding up a slow computer. The fastest, cheapest way to speed up a computer is to add memory.

Why wouldn't you buy the fastest, widest memory you can get? The speed and width of the memory's bus should match the system's bus. You can use memory designed to work at 100 MHz in a 66-MHz system, but it will run at the 66-MHz speed of the bus so there is no advantage, and 32-bit memory won't fit on a 16-bit bus. And so on down the line of speeds

In manufacturer site, it says "Dual-Channel DDR2 Memory Support". That means my motherboard supports dual channel memory.
However I read that windows xp does not support memory more than 2gb. What do you suggest ?
So, to sum up, your best performance will come from buying 2 2GB DDR2 800 modules and installing them in dual channel mode.
Personally, I'd go with buying two of these puppies here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220228
It should run in dual channel mode and give you good performance.
