Can you find a scanner similar in features to the Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M (Mac) but without the hefty price?

I love the Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M (compatible with Mac OS) because it does double-sided scanning, you can put multiple document sizes in the feeder and it will automatically de-skew and scan without trouble. Perhaps the biggest benefit to the S510M is the one-button scanning. It's as simple as pressing a button. The software does the rest.

Is there another scanner out there like this one, with similar features, but for home use? The S510M is for "production scanning" in an office with lots of paperwork, as it can do color duplex (both sides of page) at 18 pages per minute. I don't need it to be quite as fast because I'm a home user trying to convert to a paperless lifestyle.

Thanks for assisting me (and anyone else who's looking for a high quality scanner)!

Requirements:
- MUST scan double sided, in color
- Less than $250, new. $300 might be ok, depending on specs and ease of use.
- Mac OS compatible
- Scanner only. We already have a multi-function printer/fax/copier/scanner but the scanner is super slow, and doesn't do double-sided.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M has much of the same features as the S510M, just about half the scanning speed. It's also quite compact and mobile.

• I already knew about this and should have mentioned it in my question, but that's okay. I may end up going with this one anyway. Thanks!

I recommend and use the Canon Pixma MP600. It does everything from printing to scanning, and has color. It's also inexpensive, and does a great job for all in one use.

The good:
Inexpensive; high quality prints; fast print speeds overall, particularly quick with photo printing.

The bottom line:
The Canon Pixma MP600 occupies the sweet spot between quality and price. It's one of our favorite photo all-in-ones for home users.

Specifications:
Office Machine Functions: Copier , Printer , Scanner ; Printer type: Multifunction printer ; Printing Technology: Ink-jet

We have 5 Fujitsu Scansnap 510M scanners at work and they are the best investment. They have survived abuse, dust, stains, and overuse. I now stock the rebuild and cleaning kits for them, so the will continue to work as well as the day we bough them. If you are broke, the Neat company makes a nice portable USB powered scanner called "neatreceipts". It's real power is that being so small you can take it with you and scan everything while traveling too. On sale now for $199.95 on their web store
