The Connectland 2405003 seems to meet all of your requirements. It handles the autoscan itself so, as far as I can tell, there will be constant signal output from the unit. I would contact the manufacturer regarding this. It has the capability of switching from the front of the unit as well as hot keys from a mouse of keyboard connected directly though USB. (helpful for repurposing)
I've included a link from the manufacturer's website as well as the cheapest place I was able to find for it.
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately I don't use it with a projector, and it has the USB options on it for KB and mouse.
I still think its a great product though. Where I'm located, there isn't much choice for KVM equipment.
It works great for me because I have a desktop running XP and a Firewall, and I use the KVM to switch between the two.
It works better then the other generic brands I've tried before. I'm recommending this based on the fact it should meet your needs of having VGA as a minimum, and because I think its a solid product.
This one is VGA only, no DVI unfortunately.
Good luck.

Best 2 port KVM for VGA or DVI connections with VGA or DVI output?
I need a box to switch between 2 Macs or PC laptops to run into a Benq projector which has both VGA and DVI inputs.
Obviously I'd like to keep running DVI the whole way for best quality, but need the option of VGA inputs at least, so i can handle PC laptops as well as Macs.
As the computers are laptops I don't need keyboard or mouse switching, and in fact need a KVM which allows physical switching from the unit itself.
Lastly, as I'm running into a projector, a unit that outputs a constant signal even while switching is vital, so that the projector doesn't go to auto-scan when it loses the first signal from the KVM switch. Also, the ability to turn off on-screen display and switching sounds if the box has either.
Does a box like this exist? Dual DVI switch with constant output over DVI and physical switches.
