The thing is, with Twitter's 140 character limit, there's no way to advertise discretely, and so you turn people off.

Better to use Twitter to build up your brand with interesting tweets that drive people to your website to learn more about you: there you can have advertising that isn't in their face and is more closely targeted to your audience, so that it has a better chance of interesting them.

I use Twitter to advertise my online articles so I make money that way. I have not tried any of those sites but am considering it. It just seems they all want to post the link and not let you do it. I am not sure I want to give them that much access to my account.

Twitter is very much an opt in system... people only read my tweets if they are interested in me, or my opinions.

Spouting adverts from somewhere else means that they won't be interested in what i say--- so they'll stop following me.... and it will actually hurt my friendships as i end up spamming people I know.

I have didn't care for it all that much though. I did make any money from it. I used, twtrev.com it wasn't a good idea.
