With Google Voice allowing you to record every call you make/receive, should there still be an expectation of privacy when using the phone?

There is, but since recording calls for private use is legal in most states (the exception being Oregon), if you have something to talk about that you don't want recorded say so during the conversation at the very least. If you don't trust them not to, talk in person. Just be sure to frisk them for microphones since that technology and practice has been available for decades.
If you do no wrong, the truth isn't scary.
Or learn sign language, harder to record that. :)

Hi MikeBracco,
Just what Silverhammer said, you won't know if the calling or called party is recording the conversation. Even if you ask them!
The best way is to talk safely. That way they can't use it against you somehow.
How I wish personal or business telephone number can prevent such recording!
