Who is funnier? Who would you rather have as your boss?

Personally, I would prefer David Brent - because he is much funnier than Michael. Practically, I would go for Michael though.

Personally, I think David Brent is much funnier. He mumbles more and has a thicker accent, which makes for better "rewatchability." Also there's a certain aspect of his greatness that is enhanced by the fact that the UK version was shorter.
However, I'd much rather have Michael Scott as my boss as I'd get away with anything and I could mess with his head and make him believe there is such a thing as a two-way petting zoo.

Michael Scott, of course! It may not be that he's any funnier than David Brent, but his jokes are tailored to an American audience and sense of humor rather than British.

No comparison - David Brent is funnier by a country mile. By the way, check out Ricky Gervais' Podcast (search on Google) if you need a laugh - absolutely brilliant!

Definitely David Brent. Michael Scott is merely a copy of the original, and copies never turn out quite as good as the original.
