Oprah fan here, so I know Oprah loves cocker spaniels, and likewise Oprah Winfrey has always been a fan of cock spaniels. She previously had a cocker spaniel named Sophie, and it unfortunately passed away last year of kidney failure. When Sophie passed away she said, "Her life was a gift to me," and added "Her death, a greater one."

She has another cocker spaniel named Soloman.

Two of Oprah's dogs were black cocker spaniels, Sophie and Solomon. Sophie passed away March 10, 2008. Now, almost a year later she adopted Sadie, a blond cocker spaniel.

According to Oprah, she was filming a segment at PAWS Chicago, a no kill shelter she has donated to. Since she did a show last year on puppy mills she vowed her next dog would be a shelter dog. While she was there she says: "The dog chose me," "There were like six or seven dogs, and she was on my shoulder, nuzzling." Being a blond, Sadie will fit in with her two Golden Retrievers.
