The long term prediction would be that we are due for a quieter year, but the recent trends have trumped this in the eyes of most forecasters. Some reputable ones include 13 and 14 named storms. I'll say 14, which works out to "N".
But how are you going to pick a best answer in two days? You need to wait until November or so.

What letter hurricane will we reach this year? This is for the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Here are the names:
Ana (unused)
Bill (unused)
Claudette (unused)
Danny (unused)
Erika (unused)
Fred (unused)
Grace (unused)
Henri (unused)
Ida (unused)
Joaquin (unused)
Kate (unused)
Larry (unused)
Mindy (unused)
Nicholas (unused)
Odette (unused)
Peter (unused)
Rose (unused)
Sam (unused)
Teresa (unused)
Victor (unused)
Wanda (unused)
Last year we reached P (Paloma) - this year I think we might reach T (Teresa).
2007 got to O (Olga) and 2006 got to I (Isaac) - now it may look like it is increasing each year - but 2005 saw the first time we went from A-W and onto Greek Letters (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta with their letters Α, Β, Γ, Δ, Ε, Z).
So I say T - but then it might be a repeat of 2005...what do you think?

My bet is we reach S, or Sam rather. There's been enough screwy climate change talks, and extreme weather these past years, that we'll have plenty of hurricanes to worry about.
