Here is an older thread on Mahalo about washing hats: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/cleaning-and-laundry/how-to-wash-a-baseball-hat
From personal experience, I wash them by hand like this:
First, I'll fill up a big bowl with warm water and laundry soap. Let it soak for a while and mix it around. If you have a brush, you can use that to scrub it.
Next, empty the soapy water and replace with fresh water. Mix it around some more. Repeat until the soap is washed out.
Finally let it air dry. Stuff a t-shirt in the hat to fill it out so it drys without creases or wrinkles. Good luck!

You always run the risk of somehow ruining the cap but this is the best way I know how to get it done.
You can order one here at Organize-it-online.com the site even has a product description with simple instructions.
Good luck.

She does it by hand, with a brush and normal washing machine detergent.
It comes out perfect each time.
You don't need any fancy do-dad to put the cap into for a dishwasher. Just wash it by hand and then hang it up to dry. Simple as that.

How can I wash a baseball cap without damaging it?
In the past, I would wash baseball caps in the dishwasher. However, I no longer have one, so that won't do. Am I stuck with hand washing, or can I put caps in the washing machine on the delicate cycle?

My wife has washed my cap about 4 times in the last 6 months. She does it by hand, with a brush and normal washing machine detergent.
It comes out perfect each time.
