Well, it's certainly a bit of creative writing by the creators of the Voltron animated series, and is likely nothing more than nonsense intended to sound scientifically impressive to all us when we watched the cartoon back in 1981.

Interestingly enough, dynatherm is the name of several companies, many in the field of technology and science.

Dynatherm Boiler
http://dynathermboiler.com/
"In 1937, the FP series Dynatherm boiler, a Scotch Marine design boiler, pioneered by Lehigh University in conjunction with Bethlehem Foundry and Machine Corp., Bethlehem, PA, was introduced for residential use. The Dynatherm FP series boiler, since its introduction, has given homeowners what the industry has known for decades: high efficiency, simplicity of maintenance and longevity of service."

Dynatherm Medical, Inc.
http://www.dynathermmedical.com/about.html
"Dynatherm's technology takes advantage of the body's natural thermoregulatory anatomy to channel thermal energy noninvasively to the body's core faster than current noninvasive methods."

Dynatherm instruments from CDS Analytical, Inc.
http://www.cdsanalytical.com/dynatherm/dynatherm.html
"The Dynatherm product line of sample collection and introduction instruments for gas chromatography serves the laboratory test and measurement markets. Dynatherm instruments provide laboratory personnel from both government and commercial activities with the means to collect trace organic chemicals from air, water and soil samples, as well as diverse food products such as coffee, grains, juices, chocolate, flavorings and their packaging materials."

Dyna-Therm Corporation
http://www.dyna-thermcorp.com/
"Dyna-Therm has been a world leader in the field of mechanical separation technology since 1961. Dyna-Therm specializes in the design and manufacture of separation equipment for the process, power and petrochemical industries."

Etc.

Obviously, a robot like Voltron (aka "Beast King GoLion"), must require a lot of impressive technology like dynatherms, and to function correctly as one unit (as the five young pilots commanding five robot lions combined their machines to form Voltron) they must certainly be connected! :)

And don't forget to activate the interlock and place the infracells up!

"Dynatherm's technology takes advantage of the body's natural thermoregulatory anatomy to channel thermal energy noninvasively to the body's core faster than current noninvasive methods. Dr. Dennis Grahn invented the technology at Stanford University, and Dynatherm is the exclusive licensee of this platform technology." - http://www.dynathermmedical.com

Ryam: Prevention and cure of hypothermia... maybe it was really cold in the cockpit to maintain some very sensitive high tech equipment and dynatherm was needed to maintain optimum body temperature of the pilots.
