Photosynthesis means the production of organic food ( normally carbohydrates ) with the help of inorganic compounds such as carbondioxide and water in the presence of photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll and carotenoids which trap suns energy in a chemical form.

So normally, the simple equation for photosynthesis will be :::

sunlight
Carbondioxide + Water ------------------------>> Glucoose + Oxygen.
Chlorophyll

the equation of photosynthesis is
6CO2 + 6H2O --------> C6H12O6 + 6O2

where O stands for oxygen
C stands for carbon
H stands for hydrogen
CO2 is carbondioxide
H2O is water
