In MythBusters, they placed blocks of sodium into a tub and it exploded. Where can I buy sodium like that?

AND: IT IS DANGEROUS TO BREATHE IN THE FUMES FROM THE BLAST?

Talk to your high school chemistry teacher, he or she will know where to get sodium and probably has some of it in the lab storage cabinet and just might show you the reaction if you talk very nicely to them. They can also show you safe chemical handling practices. It is never ever a good idea to inhale the fumes coming from any chemical reaction.

When contemplating big explosions it is always better to wait.

Remember, Mythbusters experiments should never be tried at home! That being said here is a page by someone who didn't follow that advice http://theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Stories/011.2/index.html

Please note the comments on flying molten sodium and corrosive vapours produced by the reaction.

Please also note I had a friend in high school who liked to experiment with these type of things and ended up losing part of a finger when one his experiments went awry.
