I already have a normal Iphone so I don't think I'll buy one, but I can understand that some people would like one. But I'm doubful that current app from the app store would work on a screen twice as short as the normal iphone.
It's about as small as I'd want it already. I wouldn't want to lose any of that screen size. And I surely wouldn't want it running off an even smaller battery that runs down even quicker.

I doubt that I would buy such a thing, and I doubt Apple will come out with this device.
One of the keys to the iPhone is the Apps and there are way too many difficulties in Apps on a smaller screen.

I think they probably will, but it won't be exactly like all the rumors say. Apple tends to release products that have lots of rumors going around about them, but they usually have a nice spin on them that wasn't anticipated.
I don't have an iPhone, but if the iPhone nano is cheaper, I may get one. In my opinion the current iPhone is a little too large to hold up to your ear for a conversation and I was always hoping for something a little smaller.

It wont happen. Mark my words.
I can see it happening but it would have to have a new UI. The current UI wouldnt work because the keyboard would be just way too small to use. If they implemented a new text input technology (swype for example) then I can see it happening. They could bring down the price of entry level models and it would get people excited to upgrade to better models like the ones that are currently available.
