M$2.00
Recommend a cellphone for me using these criteria:
I don't have the time or inclination to research the thousands of phones out there, but if someone happens to know a model which meets these requirements, I'll happilly pay for the info.
* Long stand-by life -- also, doesn't turn the backlight when in your
pocket, either by some lockout method or by turning automatic backlight
off, or by clamshell design. I was attracted to the 1 month standby of the Xenium series.
* Takes abuse well
* Small & lightweight
* Ability to sync calendar and phone book with outlook directly to computer via bluetooth or 802.11 and activated automatically by proximity.
* Phone has good options for calendar event notificaiton. (I like to be notified the day before birthdays, for instance.)
* Nice loud ring & strong buzzer
* Internal camera is nice, but not a necessity.
* Cheap is good. I don't want to pay $10 more than I need to for the functionality I want.
* GSM1900 supported (T-Mobile). I use prepaid cards.
* Unlockable
I don't need any functionality beyond this. I'm not interested in SMS or email or games or MP3 or ... you get the idea. If I want to communicate with someone and I have a phone and they have a phone I will call them. I don't need fancy graphics, or color, or a qwerty keyboard. If I want to e-mail them, I'll do that from my computer.

From what your looking for, your best bet is an older, non 3G Nokia. Their syncing through bluetooth works flawlessly, the built in calendar is surprisingly functional. By using exclusively the Edge network, you save on the battery intensive 3G, and all the camera/backlight personalization are super easy and simple in Nokia phones. See what are available used/new in your area as for the price. Personally, I was a fan of the 6126. Only problem was that the battery lasted me only about 2-3 days. Apparently 6131 has a 10 day standby and it looks almost exactly the same, only updated.

Thanks for the suggestion.
It's a shame, I was hoping for more answers. When I read the description, I watched this question intently, thinking "I want a phone like that too!"
