You need to be specific with your question if you want useful help.
But I will try.
If you AT&T thing is a phone then, the AT&T phone will need to be unlocked. AT&T and Tmobile use the same phones and tech, so as long as the phones are unlocked then you can use them on ether network.

WiFi is not affected by AT&T or Tmobile but 3g or edge is. Some people get cell data plans and WiFi mixed up. To add to the problem cell phone companys have been using the term WIFI in lu of Data networks because WiFi is a buzz word.

Give me more info so I can better help you

Tmobile and AT&T use different 3g frequencies so it really depends on the phone.

all you have to do is change your SIM card to bring an unlocked phone to the other company

The wifi shouldn't be an issue. It doesn't use the phone company. If you mean 3g or edge, then it could potentially be a problem and it depends on the phone.
