According to the available credits on IMDB it looks like David got his start on the first Harry Potter film and has continued to work with the franchise as Daniel Radcliffe's stunt double. He is also billed as playing Adrian Pucey in the first movie.
Unfortunately, according to Wikipedia, he was paralyzed when one of his stunts went wrong during the filming of The Deathly Hallows. According to the Daily Telegraph:
"Holmes, 25, fell while practising for a flying scene in which he wore a
harness. It is thought he was sent crashing to the ground by a
controlled explosion while filming at Leavesden studios near Watford,
Herts."
His other, most visible work is in The Golden Compass and Inkheart.

You obviously don't know about IMDb (the Internet Movie Database).
Here's the link for Mr. Holmes: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1088505/
The IMDb is a massive database of film, featuring a conveniently hyperlinked display of information.
There have been other such forays into providing resources for film lovers (and industry folks), but the IMDb was an early entrant, and its interface and design were such that it caught on quickly and does appear to have evolved to be perhaps THE online movie info resource.
Almost of your film questions can be addressed there. If desired info does not appear to be available, you can post on a message board for any resource (film, personnel, etc.).
Note also that there's also a premium service for industry folks. But the free "everyman" service is stunningly informative and fun for us nudniks.
