Wait just one dog-gone minute!
@joyannj - I think the header of this question is all wrong.
You can't have an apology when the words are not spoken. He never once uttered the word 'apologize' or 'sorry' in his short stuttering ramble.
What I did hear was 'my hurt', 'I'm a celebrity' and a couple more 'I, me and wants'.
Maybe you should have posted this question with a new header:
"WTF was Kanye West talking about on the Leno Show last night?"

Near the end of his apology, he said "I would like to help Taylor in the future".
Publicity.
He's acting regretful and bothered that he caused Swift any harm. He now has something interesting to talk about on Jay Leno's new show that is starting to go viral today.

One thing strikes me kind of odd though. Taylor was on the View today and when asked if he apologized to her directly she said "no". If he was that upset, wouldn't he have the decency to speak directly to her? (sorry to answer your question with a question!)
I guess he is embarrassed by what he did and just can't talk to her yet. He should be! What a dumb insensitive thing to do!

Nobody think that you can go on stage during a MTV award, just like that, to say whatever you want.
Yeap MTV needed a buzz, West wanted a buzz ; Taylor Swift is one of the collateral damage. That' s it.

So no, the apologize are not sincere.

I agree with you... it's not even called an 'apology'. Even the one posted on his blog isn't an apology for me. I've never seen anyone writing his/her sorry message in ALL CAPS.

Yea, it's just one of his marketing strategy / publicity stunt. Too obvious. I just hope people wouldn't buy this too much used strategy.

His apology was an incredibly sincere apology from someone who is just realizing that his record sales are about to sincerely dip. Someone from the record company has given him a sincere talking to about how he'll be out of a job if he doesn't try and rescue his image...l.

I personally believe that Kanye is not sincere because if he was then he could have apologized to Taylor personally. And you don't apologize in twitter! And i agree about the ALL CAPS thing, using ALL CAPS means you're mad or something. And you can clearly see in his face that he doesn't really want to apologize.

I really thought it was. He seemed visibly upset and almost cried when Leno asked about what his mother would think. I believe he actually felt bad when he realized that he had hurt a young woman. One thing strikes me kind of odd though. Taylor was on the View today and when asked if he apologized to her directly she said "no". If he was that upset, wouldn't he have the decency to speak directly to her? (sorry to answer your question with a question!)

I don't believe for a second that his apology was sincere. I think he was advised to go on Jay Leno's new show and say the things that he said in order to do a little damage control. He looked like a devious little kid caught doing something he knew he shouldn't have been doing in the first place and saying what he thought people wanted to hear to make it all go away. He wasn't even making eye contact! His appearance on Leno will probably prove to be pointless though after President Obama's thoughts on the subject were leaked.
