Well the basics are easy:
Live in a nice, wholesome area.
Don't encourage exposure to the media that promotes Lynn, Spears, Hilton, etc. It's hard (if not impossible) to keep posters off the walls or movies from being seen, but that doesn't mean that these things need to be promoted either. I've seen a lot of "Hanna Montana" birthday parties this year.
Engage your children in conversation about these celebs to convey that their celebrity is based around the negative aspects of their life.
Provide a solid foundation of trust and involvement in the life of your child. If they know you care and are there, children often respond with similar respect and care.
Discourage the relationships (friends) that your child has with peers who promote these celeb's by dressing like them, acting like them, etc.
