I wish I had spoken out back then when the documentary aired. I wish I had come to MJ's defense sooner, before we lost him. But instead, I thought I was doing enough just by refusing to buy the trash rags and watch the crap programming. It wasn't enough.
People like Bashir take advantage of others who don't have a strong PR campaign - like MJ. Bashir is no journalist because his treatment of material is clearly biased. He's a tabloid writer in my opinion. And ABC is guilty by association. They must have seen the original footage, but rather than trying to truly understand a human being, they rushed to judgement.
Bashir's "documentary" is a truly heinous act because it resulted in the psychological unraveling of MJ. Jackson didn't have a healthy support system. Bashir, ABC and all of these gossip mags bully celebrities. I don't buy into the argument that I helped put a celebrity into the spotlight and therefore deserve to know everything about that individual. NO! The celebrity's talent is what put him/her in the spotlight, and I have the privilege of enjoying that talent at a concert, or from a CD, or in a movie - fullstop. Gossipers just envy the celebrity's lifestyle. Which I find disgusting. If you (the gossip mag writer) want it so much, go out and earn it - put yourself on the line and go for it.
I swear I won't remain silent going forward. Staying silent meant bullies got to MJ.

Yes. Bashir (the basher) admitted he didn't see any criminal behaviour on MJ's part and believes MJ innocent of the abuse allegations. Well, that's not the song he sang when he put together his "documentary". I wish I had spoken out back then when the documentary aired. I wish I had come to MJ's defense sooner, before we lost him. But instead, I thought I was doing enough just by refusing to buy the trash rags and watch the crap programming. It wasn't enough.
