And he thinks his surprise visits for throw downs are a secret?
It also annoys me when his assistants answers his questions of what they think and then he says "Oh I don't like that!" and does it his way after all! Why ask?

Why does Bobby Flay annoy me?
Food Network is not what it used to be, but other than the inane "challenge" shows, Bobby Flay is the only one who makes me turn the channel. The only place I'll occasionally watch him is on Iron Chef, but that's because Alton Brown rocks and I can root for the other chef. There are lots of big personalities on Food Network (such as Rachel Ray), but why is it Bobby that makes me lunge for the remote?

• Yes, I think it's the premise that he's SO important and talented. I don't mind that he focuses on one spectrum of cooking (heck, Rick Bayless does too and he doesn't bother me, I don't want to see Rick Bayless trying to cook Singaporean food....), but the smugness iand self-perceived perfection is just too much.

You are not the only person to find Bobby Flay intolerable. Many people consider him to be cocky or obnoxious. Hopefully they won't give him a prime time talk show like they did with Rachel Ray.
