OPEN THREAD: Toxicology tests show Billy Mays used cocaine before his death

Wow! Apparently Billy Mays used cocaine before his heart attack on June 28, 2009, but was not under the influence at the time of his death. Apparently hydrocodone, oxycodone and tramadol, prescribed to him for hip pain, was also found.

I heard that also. It is not surprizing that he died of a heart attack, he has a heart attack face. You can tell when someone has that bacon fat look to them. He was probabaly on cocain when he was doing his informercials. I don't know how anyone could be that high strung without it.

Not a surprise that he was using cocaine. The high energy, overweight, loud profile is very prone to that. Look at Sam Kinnison, John Belushi, and John Candy. They all used drugs and had the high strung appearance. I can't understand why they would do that to themselves, and that there hasn't been enough of it to teach people that it will kill you.

On CNN it was revealed that Billy Mays family is calling this "cocaine finding" speculative and asking for an independent review.So I will not jump to conclusion until I hear the outcome of this independent review.

I have to say that I am a little shocked at the news of his cocaine use. I never would have suspected it. However, drug use does seem to be a common thread amongst celebrities.

Well if you used cocaine, then he basically killed himself. That is very bad for the heart and not to sound cold, because I don't want anyone to be dead, but he brought it on himself and hard to feel sorry for him. I feel bad for the family he left behind, that's who is suffering
