DJ AM died from and OD? (http://bit.ly/sQdPf).
Was he back on drugs again?

Friends say he wasn't seen or heard from for a few days. They broke down the door to his NYC apartment and found him dead.

Reports are developing... but it sounds like he might have died from an overdose. Does anybody have some "insider" information about how the DJ could have passed away?

I was reading that DJ AM was sober and apparently had a relapse after his 2008 plane crash. He had 2 skin grafts and he required a lot of pain medication which is thought to have caused his relapse.

Says here he used to be a crack addict—and attempted suicide 11 years ago, but was spared when the gun he put to his head jammed.

His father was verbally abusive... and turned out to be a drug addict, who was a closeted gay. Sounds like a tough life.

Wouldn't surprise me. I wonder why so many of these celebrities appear to be on drugs. I don't have statistics and maybe it's not a higher percentage than the population in general, but just seems that way. Could very well be it's because they are in the limelight and the average person isn't. Oh well, if he did OD, it's his own fault, hard to feel sorry for someone like that.

Actually I can feel sorry for someone that finds themselves battling an addiction. I have made sure I never got involved with addictive things, but I have seen how easy it is for people to become involved in drugs. Especially since drugs are so available to celebrities.. It is really a shame. In my opinion.

I found this article that talks about Dr. Drew's work with him on addiction and how he was helping others deal with their recovery but seems that the plane accident last year led to an injury that interrupted his sobriety.
