Call your local Animal Control; if they won't come get the cat (sometimes they will only come if you catch the cat first), then call your local animal shelter. If they can't, or won't, help you, then look for a cat rescue organization in your area. If that fails, or if you can't find one, call your local emergency animal clinic, or a regular veterinarian and ask if they know of a cat rescue organization. One thing is for sure, the mother cat is at risk, the dangling baby is deceased, and the remaining babies are either dead or in peril. The cat needs help. Be sure that you tell everyone you talk to how long she's been like this, and that she appears very ill. You have to incite expediency. I've given you a chain of options because after years of trying to help animals I find that animal control and shelters are sometimes less than helpful in many cases. They are not entirely to blame, however as they are notoriously overburdened, understaffed, and underfunded. Good luck.

My girlfriend needs help with a stray cat, who is pregnant, read to find out more, it is a little sick so please be warned.
So she has this stray cat in her back yard that she and her family calls "Back Yardie" or Backie for short, so Backie is pregnant and I think it was about 2 days ago My girlfriends mother noticed Backie walking funny towards the house. Then she noticed a kitten sticking half way out. The cat saw her mom and ran back under their deck, which is not connected to the house. It has been 2 days and her mom saw the cat again, and a kitten is still hanging there, and her mother says the cat looks really sick and the cats sides are all funny shaped now. We fear this is going to kill this cat, but they can not get ahold of the cat. What should they do?

If we caught the cat we would just take it in our selves to save money. My girlfriend is an animal lover, and sadly we fear that we are not going to be able to catch the cat, and even if they did come to get the cat, they could not catch it.

Call your local animal shelter so they can retrieve this cat and get it medical care imediatley or it will die. The kitten has probably died by now, but the rest might be ok if they are not in the birth canal... if she has lost them all this will set up infection in the mother since she cannot pass them. You can take responsibility for the cat if you intend to keep it... but please call asap, she needs help! Kitten Lodged in the Birth Canal
