I just found my kitten... *read more*

laying dead in the street, I think he was in the back of my dads truck and when my dad was leaving he jumped out and got hit by another car. when i was leaving home I saw someone swerve and I saw a black spot and I knew it was my kitten. I have been very upset for a while now. Kinda silly but he was like my friend. so the question is what can I do to help me feel better? I just can't stop crying.

First, I agree with Phu. There is a kitty and doggy heaven. I like to think so anyway..

I'm not going to say anything here to make you feel better. I know how you feel. Its sucks. I ran over one in my driveway one day and had to bury it before school. That was 20 years ago and I still remember it. I feel your pain. It will go away, you'll probably never forget, but the pain will subside.

Now enough of that. Tomorrow, go to the Pound or a KILL shelter. Get another one. True, it won't be your kitty, BUT you WILL give another one life.

My cat came from a Kill Shelter. I am so happy that I have her and she wasn't executed. Yes, after 3 weeks or 3 months or whatever, they take them and put them to sleep. I know its wrong, but they'll say the world is too full of kitties and puppies. Thats another discussion for another time...

Go to a Kill Shelter. Pick out another one. Give another one a chance at life. If you don't someone else will, or won't. One kitty's life ended today, but you have the chance to change another ones life for the better.
Asker's Rating:
• I hate when people say " I know how you feel. " NO ONE CAN KNOW HOW SOMEONE FEELS. everyone takes things differently. Like I replied to another answer. This kitten was special because it came from the my other cat, the mommy, who might be dying. So, its not that easy

I am not RUDE! I just said this was not the best answer. I am upset already so you are the "rude" one for saying that. And how were you helping when you said... "I'm not going to say anything here to make you feel better." I asked people to "so the question is what can I do to help me feel better? I just can't stop crying." So sorry if you found me RUDE. But I wasn't. I was just saying. OK. P.S. a lot of people hate when people say I know how you feel. look here http://www.survivorsofviolentloss.org/support/iknowhowyoufeel.html or http://www.semissourian.com/story/1474791.html ... and I am not being rude here either I am just letting you know that it almost made me not even read your full answer, but then I thought, hmm That would be Rude if I did not read it all. So I did.

I would be crying immediately.
I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your kitten, I know there are few pains as hard to take as the loss of a pet. It's not silly to have called your kitten "your friend" its natural, pets are integral parts of our families, my dog Chewy is my best friend and I'm proud to his. Losing a pet is losing a member of the family and each person will grieve in their own way. In the past I have dealt with the first pains of grief by helping others with theirs, that help me find the road my grief would take.
I wish you all the best in these trying times ahead, I hope you can find resolve.

If it will make you feel any better. I know for a fact that your sweet kitty is now up in kitty heaven.
Kitty heaven is even better than dog heaven.
They have huge balls of string that never need to be rewound.
If you think those chocolate fountains are all the rage in Hollywood, they have them with milk for all the felines up there just past the 'fish bone' gates.

Don't ignore your feelings, you'll be very upset and sad for a while.
He is gone... and you miss your sweet fuzzy boy. Don't deny your feelings.

But as time passes, you'll be able to remember the sweet memories without breaking down or getting too glum... trust me, it just takes a little time.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Thanks. You this made me smile a little. The sad thing is that he was just now starting to sleep on my lap. I still have claw marks all over. I miss him. His name was Gremlin. He was a beautiful fluffy kitten, and he was the cutest color. First he was black on top with a fuzzy gray tummy, and then he started to turn gray all over with black frosted tips. My poor baby.

That's all I wanted to do... make you smile a little in between your weepy weepies. Make your boyfriend give you lots of hugs and love. Tell him Phu said so! You'll feel better sweetie!

That's the trouble with pets, and anything else in the world that you get attached to. For as much joy as they can provide you, it hurts when they are taken away.

But even though you were attached to your kitten (and there's nothing wrong with that), unlike the people you love, pets can be replaced. And things like this only end up making you a stronger person.

I'm sure your kitten enjoyed his time with you.
Maybe, after some time, you can get a kitten from the humane society and give him/her all the love you gave to your first kitten.

Best wishes

Sadly it is not that easy. He came from my other cat who is dying. She has been having many problems and is losing weight. We are hoping she will get better but once she did, she got bad again. So he was my piece of her.

Plus my other Male cat only liked this kitten lol, he usually hits all the rest. So my other cat approved. I am cuddling with both the mommy and the adult male.

I had a pet dachshund that hated cats. Then we got two tomcat brothers that beat some sense into her (or clawed I guess). Shatzee (sweetheart in German) never messed with cats after that. In fact they would sleep together in a big pile in the living room. Pets are great, but with the good comes the bad. You are in the bad part right now, but it will get better I'm sure.

This might be grouse but my male cat umm beats up (kills) other cats. We have found 2 outside my house. Thank goodness they were both wild cats.

Same for my shatzee (until the tomcats put her in line).

Just wanted to let you know I'm heading out for lunch (I live in Japan) now with the family, so I won't respond for a bit.

Keep your head up!

Three hours is not that long to grieve over a beloved pet. If this is your first time to grieve over a loss like this, then it is understandable that you might be anxious about still crying. Don't worry about it. Cry all you want. But you need to be sure and drink some water or soda or something else so that you replenish the fluids that you are losing. And you have to stop and eat. It might seem disrespectful to eat and drink when you are morning this loss, but this will help you grieve easier.

I am so sorry for the loss of your kitten. I don't think there is much you can to feel better, just take time to grieve and miss him, and think of all the good times you had with him, even if it was short. All deceased pets are dearly missed, but time will heal the hurt.
