You might just have to pick the laundry basket off the floor. Seriously, I have a 4 year old female cat that drives me batty. She wont pee in her box, it is always on the outside of the box, almost like she can't quite make it. We clean her box every day, sometimes two or three times. I have taken her to the vet 4 or 5 times, no infections. I do have a male cat (they are both fixed) that was here first and i have come to the conclusion that she is just a little prissy thing and wants to be the only cat in the house. Now we buy the puppy training pads and cover the area with those.

I knew someone who had multiple cats and one of the cats began peeing all over the carpet. They put Aluminum foil all around the edges of the room (thats where she peed) and she ended up stopping after a few weeks. They then tore up the carpet as the pee soaked into the carpet pad and the whole house stunk.

What exactly is this aluminum foil supposed to do? I have never heard of this one.

Apparently Cats do not like walking on foil or having their pee run onto their paws. The foil must be on top of the carpet to be effective.

There are a lot of reasons why your cat may be peeing all over the house. You cat could have a urinary track infection, could be old and have trouble with bladder control, could be threatened by another cat or something outside, or could be unhappy with the litter box (other cats are using it, doesn't like the litter, litter box is not clean). I'd do some searching online, there are a lot of good resources out there. I'd also suggest taking your cat to the vet to make sure there is not a physical problem. If I had more info, I might to give you some more specifics.

Just because you were just at the vet doesn't mean your cat doesn't have a bladder infection. Until we insisted that there was something wrong with our dog, our vet kept saying her strange behavior was normal. She wound having two DOZEN stones in her bladder. Immediate surgery was the only solution. The poor dog had been suffering for some time till then.

Our dog had surgery 3 times in two years. She's now on a strict diet of Hills CD & SD food - that we were warned she could not live on. But it's been a couple of years and she's been stone-free. We may just be buying time but at least she's not in surgery every 8 months. And this all started with odd urinary habits - so beware!

Could it be that you have stray cats in the area, who your cat knows are trying to get access to adoption or food, and your cat is protecting its territory. In this case you could install a cat flap that allows only your cat to pass through, probably with a magnetic device on the collar.

I don't think that's it.
We don't have many stray cats in this area.
In fact, all the ones I've seen around have nice homes.
