However, I'm glad the law is in effect here, and like my new bluetooth device.

As phones become more prevalent we can only hope that people become more accustomed to driving with phones and more responsible in their use. Personally, I find it crazy that when I am driving an ambulance I can use my cell phone, but I can't when driving my personal car.
We don't need more cell phone laws. We already have this law called reckless driving and it applies to all types of activities. Enforce that law and we don't need any cell phone laws at all.

I think the hands free law is a good one for now. It's going to be a while before everyone will obey to never use their phones in their cars. I do think that should be the ultimate goal though - Only use for emergencies. http://dmv.ca.gov/cellularphonelaws/

In California, we aren't allowd to use mobile phones while driving. I agree with the law, but only because I've almost been run over by hundreds of different women on their phones. It may be sexist, but I think men should be allowed to. I think we don't get as "in to" our phone calls as women do, and thus are more responsible while on it. However, I'm glad the law is in effect here, and like my new bluetooth device.

It is the conversation that is distracting, not the phone. Cars were never meant to be driven with two hands. We don't ban manual transmission cars do we? As phones become more prevalent we can only hope that people become more accustomed to driving with phones and more responsible in their use. Personally, I find it crazy that when I am driving an ambulance I can use my cell phone, but I can't when driving my personal car.

Absolutely. Its distracting and unsafe; laws should also include text messaging as well.
