I used to be the service advisor for Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi and the Jaguar X type was replaced for a reason! The X type just had too many problems, mostly with the ignition &gas tank sensors(replace the gas cap). The X type is the Carolla of Jaguars! Any other questions please ask!

Overall reliability was never impressive on the Jaguar X-Type, specifically during early model years. Edmunds has a pretty good review on the 2007. http://www.edmunds.com/jaguar/xtype/review.html
