54 Miles per gallon and only $2,500?!?!?!

I'd get one of these just as a dog car!!! We wonder why our car companies can't compete!

I wonder how safe this car is... and the emissions.

Yes, this seems like a great compact car to drive. I have seen little police cars similar to this in New York City, and have seen cars that are like this in Miami. I am not sure it would be allowed on all roads or in all states, but it definitely seems like a fun compact car to drive.

I would certainly do so. I realize it is relatively much larger, but I bought a Nissan Versa (which I am extremely pleased with) as a commuter vehicle for myself, with the flexibility of taking the whole family places occasionally. I enjoy the flexibility of doing so, but we have another larger vehicle that accommodates those needs, and as my commute is 15+ miles each way, in largely urban traffic, I would be very pleased to have a very small, efficient vehicle for daily commuting (which was largely achieved with the Versa, but the Nano would be another level of that entirely, which I would welcome).

While I like the idea of a cheap compact car I don't think I would feel right in the car since I am 6 foot tall and not a little guy. Plus, I am use to little cars with what I drive but since they are sports cars the feel of driving something like this would really be difficult for me as well.

If anyone wants to know what the question is in regards to, here is a picture.

Hey Spoon!
This car will easily fit in 4 six footers comfortably. Tata's chairman who drove it onto the stage during the car's launch is a six footer himself. He comfortably got out of the car, and also looked like he had a lot of head room in the driver's seat. Check out the video here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Mw6BuMJEM Fast forward to 1:56 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I would love to drive this car. Here on Maui, gas reached $4.55 a gallon. It's down to $2.41 now, but it's bound to go up again. The price of this car would save me enough to buy a lot of gas. The farthest we drive is about 30 miles one way.

I can see a service offering these cars on a daily or hourly rental basis in areas where most people don't own cars being fairly successful, but I think I'd feel safer in a used Nissan Sentra or something for twice the price.

I'm a big guy too, I would love to check it out to see if it is any worse than the last piece of crap rental Fiat that I had to drive in Germany some 12 years ago. My knees touched the steering wheel even with the seat pushed all the way back.

I'd love to try one, but it is not an appropriate car to drive for those of us that need to go on the highway. Its top speed is all of ~60mph.

For poking around town, though, if it were something to never leave the city? Yeah, that'd be handy!
