Chrysler had an event for new cars but banned blogs (Autoblog) saying "not a trusted source", is it true?
http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/17/brouhaha-over-embargoes-leads-to-reveal-of-chryslers-auto-show/
Now I have to say this is the most upsurd thing I have heard of in some time which leads me to believe this is just a sure fire sign of the times to why Chrysler cannot stay in business when they cannot identify legitimate news sources like Autoblog and Jalopnik. I wanted to see how other people felt about these sources for news media? Do you trust the information you gather from these sites or take it seriously?

As the founder of Autoblog (i sold it to AOL) I've seen this movie OVER and OVER again. Blogs like Autoblog are amazingly influential and to ban them is absurd.
I had to email Steve Jobs directly to get Engadget into one of his keynotes one year (he made it happen--he's a huge fan of Engadget!).
These big automakers need to go Chapter 11, get bought out of bankruptcy by new management and start off fresh with a new vision that includes electric vehicles like the Tesla Roadster.

Most blogs shouldn't be trusted. I read the two blogs mentioned also, but Chrysler may not trust that they are legit professional writers, ex-racers, etc. or are they just fans of cars? (like me :)). Blog owners/writers should be somehow certified to speak on certain things. Like a Doctor is certified to examine patients. If regular people are just blogging their opinions, then yes I agree, no blogs. If I had a business, I wouldn't want non-professionals saying the wrong thing about my products.
