I have a couple of friends who have nissan altima cars and they love them!
Here are some links to review sites with a lot of good info, all in all I would say it would be a good purchase.
Take it to a mechanic you can trust and get a compression test done on all the cylinders.

Yes, I think so. I bought a used 2001 Altima with about that many miles and it was still in good shape and running well when I traded it in on a Nissan Quest because of family expansion. I drove it for over four years and traded it with over 120,000 miles. Great car. Be sure to have it check out by a independent Mech, and check it on Carfax.
