Why not? They seem to want to nationalize everything else. I would say that GM stands for "Government Motors" at this point. In a true capitalist society GM would fail or restructure. However, I am not sure at this point whether we are a true capitalist society anymore.

GM is asking the government to buy the company. Will the government take ownership of GM, if so, why?
