Will Karma be the first plugin hybrid to be sold in the US? What is the company announcing?

Karma is built by Fisker, a Irvine California company.

What are the specifications for the Karma?

It could be the first plugin hybrid sold in the US, yes. The company, Fisker, states that the cars are being manufactured from now until fall 2009, and will be for sale by early-mid 2010. Specs are:

Engine: 2.0L Turbocharged Ecotec VVT DI LNF + x2 Electric Motors (201BHP equivalent each)
Length: 195.67 inches (4970mm)
Width: 78.11 inches (1984 mm)
Height: 51.57 inches (1310mm)
Electric range: 50 miles (80 km)
Layout: front engine, rear wheel drive
Platform: QTWW's Q-Drive
