Smarts car. I've heard it was some model that was rare. What kind of car is it?

I'm simply asking what kind of car did agent Smart drive.

According to Wikipedia, Maxwell Smart drove the following:

1965 Sunbeam Tiger
1968 VW Kharmann Ghia
1969 Opel GT
1968 Ford Shelby Mustang convertible

To me the only one I would count as rare is the Opel GT. There was one in my childhood neighborhood and it was very tiny, plus the proportions are weird. It looks like a chopped down 1967 Toyota 2000 GT
