Vehicles are already too fast otherwise the there wouldn't be a 155mph limit on most high performance cars made for the autobahn in the US. Those countries also have stricter laws about "driving" so you really have to pay attention otherwise the consequences more much more severe. With so many idiots out there behind the wheel today who don't know how to drive I can't imagine them driving their beater Honda's going 120mph.

After just driving 3700 miles throughout the Southeast I'd say put that money into fixing the existing highways and bridges.
