Aside from it being illegal it is also immoral because it's just an accident waiting to happen. Nothing is so important that it can't wait until you pull over or get to your destination. But facing charges for manslaughter or vehicular homicide is something to think about. The person texting would have to live with that guilt the rest of their life - that is if they even survived the accident!

I'm a Jersey girl too and the answer is yes it is illegal. I've noticed that the police are really cracking down on it too, some of my friends received warnings or tickets. Aside from it being illegal it is also immoral because it's just an accident waiting to happen. Nothing is so important that it can't wait until you pull over or get to your destination. But facing charges for manslaughter or vehicular homicide is something to think about.
