It is a mark on your driving record. You, being the driver, are responsible for your actions while driving, and will be the one ticketed in the event of an accident (few drivers in an accident don't get a ticket). And accordingly, it will be a blemish on YOUR driving record. If charges are pressed against you, it will be you who has to appear in court.

Your mom's role will primarily be regarding working with her insurance to cover repairs (or replacement costs).

But as far as the police and the state are concerned, it's all on your record.

Good luck, and I hope no one was hurt!

It would be on the licensed driver. So this would go on your driving record but she would take the hit on her insurance.

The mark always goes on the record of the person driving, assuming the driver is actually a licensed driver.

However, some insurance policies do not cover drivers who are not licensed, and if your parent allowed you to drive their car, knowing you weren't licensed and it was your fault, it could come back on your parent's license in a state that does points.

I can give more information about this, but I'd need to know what state is was and whether or not the driver was licensed in that state and had permission to drive the car by the insured person.

Good luck...

Her insurance will more than likely go up according to the cost of their payout on the claim but this will be against your driving records as it is the driver who gets any charges if there are any and the driver who is reported to the DMV. I hope you are insured as a driver on a policy. It's not just a vehicle that is insured, driver need to be listed and insured on a policy also.

It would be marked on your mother's insurance. My friend had an incident like this, where he crashed his dad's car and it was damaged...so, they had an insurance from Bajaj Allianz and so, his dad had to go through the whole process regarding the repairs and stuff.
