Technically, almost all soaps contain some type oil...especially those used for our skin. However, I would imagine washing you car with a soap that has predominate amounts of oil would leave a film on your car's exterior.

I will also second what the previous poster said about not using dish washing soap on your car.

A good way to find out what the pros are using is to go to your local carwash (preferrably a nicer one that washes luxury cars), and find out what soaps they are using to wash their customer's cars.

Good luck!

I have never heard of a oil based soap. I only use soap made specifically for washing cars. Do not use dishwashing soap! It will ruin the clearcoat over time.
