I think it's a must have feature rather optional especially in hotter countires like India where I'm from. In cooler countries maybe there should be a remote heat option too. Currently, there is only one car in India that has this feature and that is the Reva which also happens to be India's first indigenous electric car.

Do you think the Remote Prius A/C features will be cool?
How times have you had to wait a few minutes for the interior of your car too cool down before getting in and leaving? Remote A/C will allow battery powered cooling to occur. Do think this feature is cool?
