Not usually. Most of the time I can get a brand-new one for the same price as the extended warranty would cost. I follow the advice of Clark Howard here, but I'd already come to the same conclusion myself.

Do you buy the extended warranty on appliances and electronics?
Most appliances are made better than in the past. If they break the replacement costs is about the same as the repair cost.
Do you spend money on warranties? Do you have a case where the warranty saved you money?
I remember wasting money on a stain guard protection on a new Caravan.
