Are there any plans for a hydrogen highway? What happens when the Mazda RX-8 goes into production and there is no refueling stations?
http://www.wired.com/autopia/2009/05/mazda/
Mazda says the hydrogen hybrid will have a range of about 125 miles, about twice that of the hydrogen RX-8. Hydrogen is stored in a tank at about 5,000 psi.
Is hydrogen refueling limited to Europe?

• The Wankel motor is very capable of burning hydrogen as a fuel. Carbon fiber tanks are strong enough to hold the compressed hydrogen. It seems there are a growing number of hydrogen refueling stations.
Interesting. I would have thought that hydrogen would be taking a back seat too hybrid plugins and evs.
Mazda has demonstrated that hydrogen can be a viable fuel source without the incredible expense of a fuel cell.
Great research.
