How do I contact the university in order to get genealogical information which I see in many research websites

How do I contact the university in order to get genealogical information which I see referred to on many websites. I am researching the French Canadian connection of my family (Cadot) om QC and need confirmation of facts off the Internet. Would be grateful for advice.

You can contact the University of Montreal here, they could most likely connect you to the department that work with genealogy
