Could be fun! I hadn't thought about it before, but there's certainly enough time to save up for it.
Much will depend on if Chicago gets the 2016 bid (not likely at this point I think) and if my husband can get the time off. He's a schoolteacher, but the games may fall during his week of winter break.

Thank you for your question.
Probably not at this stage. Canada is a long way from Australia. I would like to go to Canada and the United States but the Winter Olympics would probably be the wrong time to visit. It would be difficult to find accommodation and what accommodation there is would be highly priced.

I'd love to go, but Canadians scare me, and especially in this time of political turmoil(for their country), I'm a bit concerned about going, especially since my kids would have to come along. I don't know if I could explain to them what a parliament is and why it's closed for Christmas.

I've been to Canada a few times. When I lived in Minnesota I would cross the border here and there for various reasons. I've met a lot of Canadians in my time. So of the weirdest that I've met were in Las Vegas and southern Florida(they got cocky when the CAD was more valuable than USD and took some Florida vacations). From what I can tell, they have a weird sensibility to them. They are nice and humble and very gentle, but weird personalities, and weird customs. And from what I know, nice gentle people are more likely to be crazy.
