You can take via rail, bus or car.
Via Rail is on strike now. My family drove from Scarborough to London, we used around $20 worth of gas. Mine is a Corolla. So I will say car is the cheapest.

You right, that's about what it costs my family as well.
However, I don't have a car so I'm stuck on the bus!

I could recommend trying greyhound canada, they have routes for this trip with only 1 stop and for under $15 if bought in advance.
