Can mouthwash be just as effective as flossing?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

No. Flossing gets in between your teeth to remove foreign particles which can rot and damage both teeth and gums.
Mouthwash has no power to remove those objects, it just masks mouth odor, sometimes not very effectively

But doesn't mouthwash also get between your teeth when you swish? Wouldn't that then drive out the particles? That's what I've always been curious about, it seems it would.
Think of it this way, if you just worked on a greasy car and you had choice to wash your hands with water, OR wash them and then wipe them on a towel, you would want the extra action of being able to wipe them off right? That's the difference, the floss string has more hutzpah
