Hi and thanks for your question. Depending on the type of parrot you have you can indeed feed it nuts as they do love them. The larger parrots like the Macaws generally like macadamia nuts and walnuts with the shell on as it gives their jaws a workout.
Parrots also need a daily diet like humans do, but they need their foods from the grain/cereal, vegetable and protein groups as well. Fruits are an important part of a parrots diet as well but only in small amounts. You can also give them a commercial pellet food that is part of their daily diet as well.
Some foods you should never feed your parrot are alcohol, chocolate and anything with avocado in it as these foods can fatally harm your bird.
