Can aspirin really help fight Type 2 diabetes?

I read an article today about tests using a type of aspirin to stop inflammation around fat deposits, hoping this will help type 2 patients live longer.....

how does this work? Can someone link more articles or details please

Here are some articles I've searched on the effects of aspirin for patients who have type 2 diabetes

1. Mechanism by which high-dose aspirin improves glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes - this research is done Ripudaman S. Hundal, Kitt F. Petersen, Adam B. Mayerson, Pritpal S. Randhawa,
Silvio Inzucchi, Steven E. Shoelson, and Gerald I. Shulm

4. ---quote---
THE DETAILS: The researchers followed 1,294 adults with type 2 diabetes for an average of 11 years. At the onset of the study, each adult was given an annual checkup, during which each was assessed for cardiovascular disease, and asked whether he or she was taking aspirin. The scientists focused on the 651 adults they found who had no history of, and no other apparent risk factors for, cardiovascular disease. Of those adults, 7 percent were taking 75 milligrams or more of aspirin per day. After 11 years of follow-up, the researchers found that those taking aspirin were 50 percent less likely to develop or die from heart disease—or from any other disease, for that matter—over the course of the study than adults who weren't taking aspirin. And the association was particularly strong in adults over 65.

Yes aspirin helps type 2 diabetes to fight against some symptoms related with inflammation. Also it helps to avoid certain complication of diabetes such as heart and brain attacks.

People with diabetes are at a high risk of heart attack, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, loss of a toe or foot, and erectile dysfunction. But can be avoided by strict diabetes care. http://healthy-ojas.com/diabetes/diabetes-complications.html

Statistic's says 2 out of 3 people with diabetes die from heart disease and stroke. But can be prevented by managing blood glucose level near normal, at most of the time. http://healthy-ojas.com/diabetes/heart-disease.html
