Can any netbook support the "enhanced zoom desktop" feature in ubuntu? How do you use the feature?

I'm visually impaired and would need the ability to zoom like on a mac, in order for a netbook to be usable by me. The windows magnifier could be labeled "might as well not exist ware.". I know the "enhanced desktop zoom" feature in ubuntu requires decent graphics hardware. Does anyone know if any netbooks will support it? Also, on a desktop you hold down a key and scroll the mouse wheel how is it utilized on a netbook? A key and trackpad possibly?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I use Ubuntu a bit, but haven't tried the zoom feature, so I can't help there. There is no hardware reason limiting the ability to zoom, though. I run Mac OS X on the MSI Wind netbook, and the zoom feature works without a problem - hold down two keys and + or - to zoom in or out. The forums for particular netbooks manufacturers would probably have an answer for this, like www.eeeuser.com for Asus or www.msiwind.net for the Wind.

I am not sure if the netbook has enough power to run it but here is a link for you to try.
