How could I use Adobe Lightroom on a laptop, while still keeping my changes in my main desktop library?
Probably a basic question, but an important one for me nonetheless.
I am heading to Las Vegas this week for 5 days and will be bringing my new laptop with me that I have loaded Adobe Lightroom on. I use Adobe Lightroom on my desktop with a primary catalog with most of my pictures. While I am in Vegas I plan on doing some editing at night in my downtime on my secondary laptop.
My question is that when I come home if I want to move the images into my main Lightroom library, can I just transfer the folder tree into my hierarchy on my desktop hard drive and then import from disk from Lightroom? Will that keep my changes that I made on my secondary laptop? And is there any possibility of keeping the history of changes made as well? If so, what steps will I need to follow to accomplish this.

The best thing I have found for this type of thing is Dropbox. I use it with a password manager (keypass), and while its not the same program as you are talking about, the concept is the same. So what I did is installed dropbox on all of my computers and placed the library for keypass into the shared folder. This way, no matter what computer I am on, I am always working off the same library. And any changes I make are reflected on the other computers as soon as they get an internet connection. Check out the links for further explanation.
