Is there an easy way to do stop-action animation with my camcorder without buying expensive equipment?
When I was a kid, I used to use the family camcorder to make crude stop-action animation movies with my toys. I thought it might be fun to give it another try, but I'd like a more sophisticated and streamlined process, especially now that I have a digital camcorder and a computer. What is the easiest way to make this type of movie -- shooting a frame at a time? Continuous shots that I extract a frame at a time from using software? Some other method?

If you have a Mac, the best program I've seen for this purpose is iStopMotion. Basically you plug your camera into your computer and it gives you all of the tools that make it easy to do stop motion animation, time lapse and even fun stuff like the ability to print out flipbooks.

Awesome... That looks pretty much like what I'm looking for, and not too pricey, either.
